On January 22th-28th, the Visions2030 Lumisphere Project Team traveled to Rio de Janeiro to visit the amazing Museum of Tomorrow (Museu do Amanhã), situated on Pier Mauá overlooking the incredibly scenic bay stretching out around the relatively recently refurbished port district.  Over the spacious public Plaza Mauá, its building appears as if it is about to take flight;  it was designed by neo-futurist Santiago Calatrava, who also conceived the New York Oculus. Like Visions2030, the Museum of Tomorrow believes in dreaming the future, in solutions, combining science with imagination.  It was striking the degree to which our missions align—quite a bit! This November, the United Nations Conference of the Parties is taking place in Brazil — and COP30 may be the most important of all, leading up to the climate target of 2030.  Primary site will be the city of Belém, on the mouth of the Amazon. The museum, which welcomes 100,000 visitors a month, We were in conversation with them about participating in a series of educational activities in October called Esquenta COP (Warmup to COP). It was a powerful couple of days in Rio for our team, one we believe will lead to an extraordinary global opportunity. The team at the Museum of Tomorrow could not have been more generous with time and enthusiasm.

Stay tuned!
