Creativity and imagination have the ability to shift consciousness. A shared vision can reshape the world. The Lumisphere Experience was created for communities to envision the future together. The Lumisphere was launched at the California Institute of the Arts in late 2023 with a goal of helping shift the climate conversation from doom to hope. This creative envisioning tool asks participants: “What is the future you want to see?” Inside three geodesic domes, visitors experience a spectacular, immersive audio-visual journey that invites them to open their imaginations and dream their ideal futures. Using a customized AI platform, participants create a dazzling visual representation of their “eco-utopia” to share in a digital gallery. Participants can then enter a mentoring zone, where trained guides help them process their experiences and provide resources should they wish to be more deeply involved in climate action.
The Lumisphere was created in collaboration with Minds Over Matter. At Visions2030, we believe in the power of the imagination, and that new tools are needed to address societal challenges. A five-year global tour is in the works, concluding in 2030, the target date of the United Nations’ Sustainable Development Goals.
